The Orchard Wellness & Health Resort ザ オーチャード ウェルネス&ヘルス リゾート [Hotel in Malaysia]
A resort that prioritizes health! A unique hotel where you can refresh both body and mind, featuring a fruit farm, spa, and jacuzzi facilities!

We extend our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the flooding caused by Typhoon No. 19.
Hi there! I’m Aya, a Japanese wife living in Malaysia. Standing next to me is my husband, Eric, who is of Chinese Malaysian descent. Eric will be making frequent appearances on the blog from now on, so we’d really appreciate your continued support!
Today, we’re introducing The Orchard Wellness & Health Resort, located about an hour from Melaka and roughly two and a half hours by car from central Kuala Lumpur.
It’s a bit of a drive from downtown Kuala Lumpur, but this hotel is the perfect escape to unwind in a serene, countryside setting away from the city bustle. It’s also a fantastic choice for families with children. In fact, it’s one of my top picks for when my kids are older. The food is delicious, the gym and pool are spacious, and the large jacuzzi bathtub is an absolute bliss! You can enjoy all-you-can-eat fresh fruits at the on-site fruit farm (season runs from June to August). The spa facilities are equally impressive. Both the rooms and lobby boast luxurious, European palace-inspired interiors that will make you feel truly pampered and rich in spirit.
■ 1. “Lunch”:
We arrived at the resort hotel around 2:00 PM and were treated to a lovely lunch.

Now, let’s dig into the dishes served in the four different pots. From this restaurant, you can enjoy a glass-walled view of a lush, bird-filled paradise garden. Little parrots fly freely about, and you might even catch a “kiss scene” between them! It’s incredibly cute. Watching the little birds while savoring delicious food—what an elegant lunch this is. The two-hour drive from the city was definitely worth it.

From left: vegetable stir-fry hot pot, pork bone stew hot pot, fried fish with savory sauce, and Tom Yum soup. This was the portion for two people. We got way too full (≧◇≦). Absolutely satisfied!

■ 2. “Dinner”:
We enjoyed a French course meal. During our stay, it wasn’t peak season, so there were fewer guests, and the dining was served as a set course. When the hotel is busier with more guests, they switch to a buffet format.

A salad of fresh fruit and prawns. The prawns are impressively large and plump—a stylish and visually appealing appetizer. The fruits used are harvested from the on-site farm. We were also served a mushroom soup alongside the appetizer.

For the main course, you can choose between meat or fish. My husband went for the meat, and I chose the fish! The photo shows the meat dish. For the fish option, we had salmon, and the accompanying vegetables were garnished with fruit. Fruit was included in both the appetizer and the main course, which is a delightful touch for us ladies♡ Am I the only one? It just makes me feel so happy! The authentic French cuisine was delicious, and I left completely satisfied. Absolutely thrilled!

Dessert.

■3. “Facilities”:

There are plenty of machines, and everything is spotless! Since the building for the rooms is separate from the gym, be extra cautious during heavy rain.
<Jacuzzi>

High-tech jacuzzi! You can adjust the bubble intensity, water temperature, and more. Since it wasn’t peak season, we had the place to ourselves and enjoyed this high-tech jacuzzi all to ourselves!

Once the foam subsides, it looks like this. There are way too many jets in the jacuzzi!!!

I was pregnant at the time and couldn’t join in, so Eric had the jacuzzi all to himself—so jealous! Next time, I really want to go in with the kids!! As for his comment, he said it felt “like being inside a spaceship” (´・ω・`)

The room with the jacuzzi is divided into men’s and women’s sections (similar to a Japanese sentō), with two jacuzzis each, six reclining lounge chairs perfect for relaxing or napping, a sauna, and shower rooms.

You can sit back in the chairs and enjoy the view outside. There are “Zen” CDs available, so you can also take a break while listening to some soothing music! Just relax and unwind.
<Library>

There aren’t any Japanese books available, but enjoying a good read while lounging on a plush chair is a lovely experience. It’s a unique moment you can’t have in your daily life—something you can only savor right here.

There are multiple spa rooms, and the interior design here is unique and fascinating.

India also offers spa services and Ayurveda. It seems that oil is placed in this copper container.

<Theater>

There’s also a theater room. With such a large, cozy sofa, you’d probably fall asleep just watching movies here! (-_-)zzz

■ 4. “Breakfast”:

A gorgeous breakfast to start the day! The spread includes omelets, bread, salad, sausages, hash browns, yogurt, chocolate cake, and a fruit platter—so many delicious options. Lunch, dinner, and breakfast were all incredibly tasty, leaving me absolutely, massively satisfied!

■ 5. Orchard Farm:

The fruit farm’s peak season is from June to August. It gets packed with visitors during that time.

Be sure to bring plastic bags! You can pick fruit as you explore the farm. Small fruits can be eaten on the spot, but larger ones are generally taken home.

This is passion fruit! You can take some home and enjoy freshly picked passion fruit.

■ 6. “Pool”:

The pool was entirely private, and Eric swam with evident relaxation, basking in the glow of the sunset.

The pool even has a jacuzzi like this! It’s like a penalty game, so much fun!

■ 7. “Reception & Entrance”:

This is the front desk.

The spacious, high-end European-style lobby is a great place to take a break and relax for a while (#^^#)

Hotel activities. (This is the 2019 schedule. Please note that changes may occur without prior notice.) Fruit picking at the farm takes place in the morning for about 30 minutes starting at 8:00 AM.

■ 8. “Room”:
<Deluxe Suite (Luxury Standard Room)>
Up to 2 guests. 1 King bed, free WiFi

The bed is as grand as a palace, complete with a canopy, making it truly luxurious.

I feel like throwing a royal princess party in the palace (lol)

The bathroom featured a bathtub and a separate, enclosed shower room (the shower room is visible in the back left of the photo). With two sinks, it was an overly spacious bathroom. And the showerhead in the bathtub was gold!! I’d never seen anything like it before!

<King Corner Suite (Luxury Suite Room)>
Up to 2 guests. King bed, free WiFi

A room with a king-size bed and a living area.
The wall behind the headboard features a striking diamond pattern in rich red velvet. Although it doesn’t appear in the photo, this room also boasts a mirror with a matching diamond design. From the furniture and curtains to the lighting and interior details, every element is thoughtfully curated, creating a truly stunning atmosphere.

<Villa: Luxury Villa with Private Pool at Villa In The Green>
Up to 2 guests. One double bed, free Wi-Fi.

There are also several villa-type rooms. While the exterior is inspired by traditional Malay kampong (village) houses, the interiors continue the same palace-inspired concept.

A bathtub with clawed feet! I want to fill it up with bubbles and soak in it!!!

The villa-style rooms feature a spacious terrace perfect for leisurely chats, with options available both with and without a private pool.

If your villa has a pool on the premises, you can hop in as many times as you like!

<Presidential Suite>

Since there are so few of them, reservations for the Presidential Suite are typically unavailable online, but we were granted a special private tour. This exclusive space is usually reserved only for VIP guests. I couldn’t help but imagine that former Prime Minister Mahathir would have stayed in a room just like this.

Anyway, it feels just like being inside a palace. You can really soak up that lavish, celebrity-worthy vibe. There’s even a helipad on-site, and reportedly, VIPs and government officials sometimes use helicopters when visiting.
<Cap Safari Glamping>

If you’re looking to keep costs down, there are also tent-style rooms available. Surprisingly, the interior is quite clean and well-maintained for a tent.

Palm Tree Road. The grounds are beautifully maintained with lush greenery. Although I don’t know the specific name, there’s a plant reputed to repel mosquitoes that was planted in abundance around the room where I stayed. Despite being surrounded by so much nature, I hardly noticed any mosquitoes. (However, the villa-type accommodations didn’t have these plants, so mosquitoes were present there.)

The Orchard Wellness & Health Resort aims to seamlessly integrate Health, Beauty, and Enjoyment. It feels like a rare type of resort hotel in Malaysia. Moreover, it has consecutively won the awards for Malaysia’s Best Wellness Spa and Best Wellness Retreat from 2015 to 2018—a truly impressive property!

Nearby Information
・The surrounding area doesn’t have much to offer for sightseeing, so it’s probably safest to take the hour-long trip to Malacca’s UNESCO World Heritage City for your tours. That said, make sure to enjoy the resort’s facilities to the fullest!
- Since you can fully enjoy the facilities, it’s a great option to savor the hotel experience and then head back to Kuala Lumpur.
