Tanjung Sepat (TanJung Sepat) Day Trip---4 Lover's Bridge Beach Souvenir & Seafood Shop & Tian Lei Ting (Temple) & Lover's Bridge About 1.5 Hours from KL

Have you heard of Tanjung Sepat? Located just about an hour and a half south of Kuala Lumpur by car, this coastal town faces the Strait of Malacca and has long been known as a fishing village. In recent years, it has become increasingly popular among locals, with many tourist buses arriving from far and wide. Hearing that the seafood here is delicious, and with my parents visiting Malaysia and looking for a quick getaway nearby, I decided to take a trip to Tanjung Sepat. Let’s TABINIKO! This is the fourth installment in our series.

My comment:

(Approximately) The 7th stop was reached at around 17:20. The reason for saying “approximately” is that during my previous day trip to Tanjung Sepat (TanJung Sepat) – Part 3, I only passed by shops like “Wait a Minute Cafe” and [Joo Fa Trading], so if I had taken a break at a cafe and watched the coffee roasting process, it would have taken a bit longer. Since you can see the coffee beans being roasted at [Joo Fa Trading], I’d love to visit next time.

The Lover’s Bridge Beach Local Delicacies & Seafood Shop is a souvenir store packed with dried seafood gifts, condiments in jars you won’t find even in Kuala Lumpur, snacks, and more! The variety is truly impressive. The shop’s exterior features decorations that scream traditional Chinese taste, so visitors couldn’t resist taking countless commemorative photos. With small boats, vintage cars, sewing machines, and stacks of large jars all lined up together, the eclectic combination might feel a bit quirky—but it’s definitely a fun and unique spot to explore.

My comment:

To wrap up the day, we visited a nearby temple at around 5:45 PM. This was our eighth stop—a Chinese-style temple where we lit incense and took a moment to cleanse our minds and bodies in the serene atmosphere. Rather than being a major sightseeing spot, it was the perfect place to calm our thoughts and prepare to return to “reality.”

Lover’s Bridge:

Long wooden pier extending into calm sea waters with people walking along its length under a bright sky.

Tanjung Sepat is most famous for this long bridge that stretches out into the sea. However, we didn’t have time to visit, so this will have to wait for next time. It’s the Lover’s Bridge (情人桥). In Chinese, “情人” means “beloved” or “lover” in Japanese. The idea is that if you take photos on this bridge, you’ll capture romantic shots. It’s said that the Lover’s Bridge was once too dilapidated to use, so it was repaired and strengthened! This time, we didn’t have time to get close, so we took photos from afar.

And that wraps up our day-trip mini-adventure around the KL suburbs, featuring the Tanjung Sepat 4-series itinerary. Be sure to read through all four blog posts from 1 to 4, then copy our schedule and route for your own TABINIKO! If you had started a bit earlier, you could have covered even more ground. We arrived in Tanjung Sepat at around 12:30 PM and headed straight for lunch, so our start was a little late. Even so, we managed to visit eight spots. It seems Tanjung Sepat is gradually expanding its tourism resources, so we’re looking forward to seeing what’s next. Sometimes, a simple, rustic trip through a charming local town is just what the doctor ordered!
