Royal Beetle [Malaysia Property] How to Make a Beetle Specimen in Malaysia

Workshop: Minimum 5 participants – RM110 per person

Giant stag beetles with impressive horns resting on textured bark in a naturalistic display setting

Japanese kids absolutely love rhinoceros beetles!! And even though I’m a girl, I used to go to the back mountain behind my grandma’s house in Ibaraki with my dad during summer holidays to catch rhinoceros beetles and stag beetles. But with development progressing, that back mountain is no longer there… Malaysia still has plenty of untouched nature left. Why not try making a specimen of a rhinoceros beetle that lives in Malaysia’s vast natural environment?

Larvae. I have fond memories of my father collecting stag beetles from the hills behind our home in Ibaraki back in the day. He would let them lay eggs, raise the larvae, and eventually watch them emerge as adult beetles. It brings back such nostalgic feelings.
