Palm Garden Hotel IOI Resort City [Hotel in Malaysia]

An oasis just south of Kuala Lumpur 🌴 A mixed-use development featuring a mall, resort, golf course, and hotel. The lush, green Palm Garden Hotel IOI Resort City in Putrajaya

Hi there! I’m Aya, a Japanese expat wife who absolutely loves durian.

Durian season has officially begun, and you’ll find durian stalls popping up everywhere. There’s a wide variety of durians out there, ranging from sweet and bitter to those with a rich, alcoholic-like flavor! In this post, we’re introducing a resort hotel located in Putrajaya, just south of Kuala Lumpur. It’s about a 30-minute drive from downtown Kuala Lumpur and roughly 35 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport. While travelers often stay in bustling city-center hotels when visiting Kuala Lumpur, this spot offers a peaceful, relaxed atmosphere. It’s an ideal destination for tourists, expats in Malaysia, and locals alike—perfect for a staycation or a day-trip getaway!

The lovely courtyard features bars and relaxation spots, making it a peaceful paradise where you can unwind. Immerse yourself in the negative ions of a rainforest-like jungle to refresh your mind and body! The hotel grounds are lush with greenery and beautifully maintained, making a stroll during the cooler hours absolutely delightful! Although this area has seen significant development in recent years, it used to be surrounded by dense jungle, and peacocks would reportedly visit to play!

Spacious suite interior with grey sofa, blue cushions, wooden flooring, and a view into the bedroom and kitchen area.

Here is the Anthurium Suite. The standout feature is its spaciousness throughout! At 60 square meters, it includes a living room, dining area, and a kitchen equipped with a microwave. It’s perfect for warming up food you’ve bought, making it very convenient for those who enjoy the Japanese-style “microwave beep” lifestyle.

The resort’s main pool. You can relax and take a leisurely swim under the clear blue sky on a sunny day. It feels just like being on a tropical island—absolutely amazing! The palm trees by the poolside are so stylish! Welcome to Palm Garden!

Wow, this fresh breakfast is making my appetite soar! The menu is primarily Malaysian local cuisine, with dim sum options as well. There’s no Japanese food, but the variety is quite impressive. I’m already stuffed in the morning!!

IOI Resort City, developed by a leading local Malaysian real estate developer, features the IOI City Mall, Palm Garden Hotel, Putrajaya Marriott Hotel, and Le Méridien Putrajaya (which is almost directly connected to the mall, with all hotels within walking distance). Additionally, the Palm Garden Golf Club is just about a five-minute drive away. This is the ultimate convenience of a integrated development—staying at a hotel and enjoying a round of golf is entirely possible! It’s truly a paradise!

Must-Know Money-Saving Tips

  • There is a spacious parking lot in front of the entrance, so you can stay with free parking!

  • The hotel features THE AROI DEE, a delicious Thai restaurant. It seems to attract many local office workers for lunch, and I tried it myself—it was absolutely delicious. I’ll be sharing more details in an upcoming blog post. Lunch: 12:00 PM – 2:30 PM, Dinner: 6:30 PM – 10:00 PM.
