Hi, I’m Ayako, a Japanese wife who is absolutely obsessed with durian! Durian is one of those mysterious fruits that you end up loving more and more every time you eat it. Until recently, I absolutely hated durian, but now I’m completely smitten with it (lol)!
This time, we’re introducing a chic boutique hotel located in the bustling Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur. Just a short walk away, you’ll find Jalan Alor, a massive and vibrant hawker street, right on the adjacent road. It’s incredibly convenient: the newly popular MRT Line 1’s Bukit Bintang Station is only about a 6-minute walk away, and the Imbi Monorail Station is roughly an 8-minute walk.
The hotel also features a spa, and with its incredibly affordable rates, it’s highly recommended.
Step through the Balinese-style gate and you’ll discover the ANGUN BOUTIQUE HOTEL—a magical blend of retro vibes, European charm, Balinese aesthetics, and local Chinese influences. This is the lobby, filled with stunning furnishings. From furniture and decor to wooden doors and tiled flooring, everything is incredibly stylish! The lobby and rooms alike make clever use of accent walls, showcasing the owner’s excellent taste. I’d love to meet them!
Here’s the guest room! The furniture in the room is primarily dark brown, and each room has a different wall color.
This room boldly features lime green and pink walls (the pink wall is behind the camera, so it’s not visible in the photo). The red cushions on the chairs really pop against the lime green backdrop! Japanese people rarely dare to use such bold color combinations!
The Courtyard Suite (Honeymoon Suite) features a stone bathtub! It has such a charming atmosphere! I absolutely love interior design, but I never would have thought to pair this kind of interior with a stone tub. The interior sense here is truly advanced! There is only one room of this type at the ANGUN BOUTIQUE HOTEL!

The sunshine is so cozy, I end up dozing off on the sofa.
It’s the entrance cafe! We serve coffee, cakes, local food, pasta, pizza, and drinks. It’s also available for events!
Even at this 20-year-old Anggun Hotel, there’s an incredibly cute cat who calls it home.
